- 90's It is a very good source of hydroxycitric acids, HCA, with one of the isomers, known as Hydroxycitric acid, thought to help in weight control. The GarCitrin brand used in the USN product is a standardized extract obtained from the dried fruit rinds of Garcinia cambogia and it is standardized for minimum 50 percent Hydroxycitric acid and minimum 5 percent Garcinol. From findings so far, a composition comprising HCA in combination with garcinol would be more absorbable and bioavailable to the body and to the individual cells than HCA administered alone resulting in higher rate of the competitive inhibition of ATP citrate lyase and more efficient use as a weight control therapy.
