This is one a series of original stories designed for the 12 to 16 age-group. All the stories have a strong African flavour. When Roy and Vusi stumble upon the trail of the stock-thieves they become involved in a desperate chase that takes them up into the snow-covered mountains of the Great Karoo. As their adventure unfolds, Roy - handicapped by his deafness but determined to overcome it - and Vusi - battling against racial prejudice - discover that they have more in common than they realised. The message of the Black Eagle soaring overhead becomes an inspiration to both of them.
