Lady Liberty has fallen and Manhattan Island has been invaded by the Cephaloids, a marauding race of aliens. Taking place three years after the events of the first game, developer Crytek has shifted the action to the urban jungle of New York for Crysis 2 on PlayStation 3 and put you in control of a Force Recon Marine code-named Alcatraz. At the outset of Crysis 2 your platoon is ambushed and decimated by the Cephaloid forces whilst trying to infiltrate New York via a submarine. Left for dead, you're rescued by former Army Delta Force officer, Laurence Prophet Barnes, and transformed into a super soldier thanks to a special Nanosuit. With the power of super strength, invisibility and armour at your disposal, the goal is simple - destroy the Cephaloid race, free New York from the shackles of alien slavery and save the world from total annihilation. Good luck, soldier. You're going to need it. Gameplay: Once you are in control of the Nanosuit in Crysis 2, you're going to need to spend

little time getting to grips with it. When faced with a combat situation you can examine the scenario from a safe distance by using the suit's cloaking device without being spotted by enemy patrols. To enable cloaking, press the R2 button on the wireless controller. Once Stealth mode is triggered, press the up directional button to bring up the suit's Tactical Visor. From here you can tag enemies and ammo supplies, or objects in the environment that may be of use during a shoot-out such as exploding barrels. To tag an object, press the Square button on your wireless controller. The suit's cloaking ability is also perfect for performing silent takedowns on unsuspecting enemies. To perform a stealth takedown, sneak up behind an enemy and press the R3 button. If things get too hot for you on the battlefield be sure to quickly press the L2 button on your wireless controller. It activates Armour mode, so you can absorb much more damage than normal should a firefight get out of hand. Multiplayer: Crysis 2 on PlayStation 3 has a multitude of multiplayer modes for you to sink your teeth into once you've blasted your way through the challenging single

campaign. In total, there are 12 maps and six gameplay modes including Instant Action, Team Instant Action and Crash Site. Instant Action is essentially a free-for-all battle between you and 11 other players via PlayStation Network. The objective is this - score the most kills to win the match. Team Instant action is exactly the same, except that you're part of a team of six battling six opposing players. Crash Site is a team mode where two forces compete for control of pods dropped from the sky by the Cephaloids. The remaining modes are Capture the Relay, Extraction and Assault. Capture the Relay requires you to infiltrate an enemy base, steal their relay, and return it to your own camp for points. Extraction drops you into a team of six players and charges you all with stealing the other team's Nanosuit enhancing biodata. Lastly, Assault requires you to use stealth to download data from terminals defended by heavily armed opponents. There is a catch, and it's that you only get one chance. If you're caught or killed, it's game over.
