Horror drama from director Jennifer Lynch in which the protégé of a serial killer must decide whether to fulfil the role he has been groomed for or to break free. Tim (Eamon Farren) was a wide-eyed nine-year-old when along with his mother (Julia Ormond) he was kidnapped by Bob (Vincent D'Onofrio), a serial killer who poses as a taxi driver in order to capture his victims. Now a teenager, Tim has been kept on a chain by Bob and forced to witness the rape and murder of countless women. Over the years a bond of sorts has grown between the two men, with each reliant on the other for company, to the extent that Bob begins treating Tim as his heir.
