DISC 01 BLUE STEEL (John Wayne) plays John Carruthers, an undercover US Marshal. He appears to be in town investigating a string of robberies committed by the Polka Dot Bandit (Yakima Canutt), but when he's a little late in discovering one of the Bandit's latest thefts, Sheriff Jake (George "Gabby" Hayes) thinks he's the thief. For some reason, instead of arresting him, Jake accompanies him on his journey; after all, as Wayne says, "It's kind of lonesome trailing alone." The two stumble upon a gang robbing a pack-mule train; they rescue the beautiful Betty Mason (Eleanor Hunt), whose father has just been killed by the bandits. She and her father were bringing desperately needed provisions to town, but the bandits have successfully cut off any supplies, forcing the townspeople to consider fleeing their homes or starving to death. It turns out that the local rich man, with the meaningful name of Malgrove (Edward Peil Sr),is behind the robberies. He knows there's a vein of gold underneath the homesteader's property, and he ofers out of the kindness of his heart to purchase their land for a pittance. B-movie bad guys have a tendency to crow about their evil plans without checking
see if anyone is hiding nearby, and when the grieving Betty overhears his plans, Malgrove and his henchmen kidnap her. Carruthers and Jake offer to make one last attempt to bring supplies in, and Malgrove and his henchmen make plans to murder them. DISC 02 RANDY RIDES ALONE The singing, rhyming citizens of Hamelin hope to win a competition with Undercover government agent Randy Bowers (John Wayne) rides into a small town, happening upon a saloon that's just been shot up. Wary of the newcomer, the sheriff (Earle Dwire) arrests Randy for the murders, but the saloon owner's niece, Sally Rogers (Alberta Vaughn), helps him escape because she knows he didn't do it. Randy then sets out to find the man behind the murders and is led to an evil mastermind named Marvin Black (George Hayes), who has been passing himself off as an DISC 03 McLINTOCK The western finds Wayne hiring local widow De Carlo as his cook. She brings along her two children, a 7-year-old daughter and a teenage son who is hired as a ranch hand (both played by Wayne's real-life kids). All seems well until his estranged wife, O'Hara, returns from the East with divorce
her mind. She also wants custody of their 17-year old daughter, Powers, a college girl. Powers returns from school and is immediately courted by the younger Wayne and a Harvard beau, Van Dyke. The two suitors take to fighting it out, and it's revealed that Van Dyke is the son of one of Wayne's worst enemies. Wayne's problems are compounded by Indian raids, as well as his never ending arguments with O'Hara. Finally out of patience with his wife, he publicly spanks her, which gathers an appreciative audience. He then tells her to get divorce if she really wants it; instead, she throws herself onto his arms and proclaims her love. Loud and brassy. High points of the film are O'Hara being chased by Wayne all over the town in her white pantaloons and practically the whole cast sliding down a hill into a big mud hole. DISC 04 TEXAS TERROR Just before Bess (Lucile Browne) returns home to the ranch owned by her father, Dan Matthews, robbers attack him and his friend, Sheriff John Higgins (John Wayne) -- and Dan is killed in the gunfight. Convinced that one of his shots resulted in Dan's death, John resigns as sheriff. Former sheriff Ed Williams (George Hayes) convinces John to work for Bess to make up for his error, and he becomes her foreman. John doesn't confide his involvement in her father's death, but Bess soon hears rumors. DISC 05 THE MAN FROM UTAH The Marshal sends John Weston to a rodeo to see if he can find out who is killing the rodeo riders who are about to win the prize money. Barton has organized the rodeo and plans to leave with all the prize money put up by the townspeople. When it appears that Weston will beat Barton's rider, he has his men prepare the same fate for him that befell the other riders DISC 06 WEST OF THE DIVIDE Cowpoke Ted Hayden (John Wayne) infiltrates a band of outlaws in order to get close to their ringleader, Mr. Gentry (Lloyd Whitlock) -- the man who murdered his father. Joining Hayden on his mission is his dim but devoted companion, Dusty (George "Gabby" Hayes). But their plan gets complicated when Hayden meets Fay (Virginia Brown Faire), the lovely daughter of rancher Fred Winters (Lafe McKee). Gentry is after the man's land, and he wants Hayden to kill him to get it. What's in the box 6 x DVD
