After the Pharaoh orders all Hebrew family first-born to be killed, Moses´ mother puts the infant in a cradle to float downstream, away from danger. The baby is rescued by Princess Bithiah and raised over the next thirty years in the Royal Egyptian Palace where he is in a constant struggle with his brother, Rameses. Beautifully produced and choreographed, 12,000 extras and 15,000 animals were used during the filming to create memorable scenes including the exodus when Moses leads the Hebrew people to freedom, and the chariot scene when Rameses chases the trail of freed slaves. Prizing an Oscar for best effects and nominations for many more, THE TEN COMMANDMENTS is an epic of it´s time and is probably still one of the biggest productions in motion picture history.
