Lucky Day (Steve Martin), Dusty Bottoms (Chevy Chase) and Ned Nederlander (Martin Short) are a trio of silent film stars - known as the 'Three Amigos' - who have been dropped by their studio. So when they receive a telegram booking to put on a show in a remote Mexican village, they are forced to accept. However, there is one problem; their employers genuinely believe them to be daring caballeros, and the banditos they are being paid to take on fire real bullits. Will the Amigos save the day, or have they bitten off more than they can chew?
