In 1948, the Dragon became part of the Olympic sailing class, and all measurements have been standardized by the International Sailing Union.

The model:
Height : 100 cm
Length : 75 cm
Width : 18 cm

Scale : 1:50

History:

In 1928, the Royal Yacht Club in Gothenburg, Sweden, issued a competition for the construction of an affordable single or double cabin yacht.
At the same time, the boat had to be intended for both pleasure and racing.
The well-known Norwegian shipbuilder Johan Anker won the competition, and the result was THE DRAGON.
Originally, a Scandinavian type of wood was used for the building, but after achieving international recognition, they switched to using the type of wood mahogany.

The first Dragon was built in 1929 in Gothenburg. In 1930, the first Danish-built boat followed, and only in 1931 did the first Norwegian Dragon follow.
Dragon`s sailing characteristics are so good

the boat is practically used all over the world, and especially in Europe, the model has become very popular.
Over time, the DRAGON has developed more and more into a racing boat and is no longer built to the original specifications. Both the cabin and sail guidance have been changed, and today only the hull is really original.

In 1948, the DRAGON was admitted as an Olympic boat class, and all goals were determined by the International Sailing Union. Since its inception in 1928, this boat type has taken part in countless Scandinavian and international races and is still one of the world`s most popular boat types.
